You could set “Do not disturb” to make the change temporary.
You may wish to turn off all notifications at once, perhaps at night or during another period when you don’t want to be disturbed. Just swipe up to show the settings buttons and tap the “Do not disturb” moon symbol. Now notifications can be delivered without sound or turning on the screen.
The “Do not disturb” settings can also be scheduled for periods when you wish to remain undisturbed.
Your dedicated Apple device Notification Center can control which app notifications are set on or off.
Tap “Settings” and then “Notifications” to see a list of all your apps and how they are displayed, whether they are switched on or off, etc. You can tweak each to your own preference.
